Massimo Dutti Expands Its Global Footprint With New Flagships From Rome to New York

Spanish fashion label Massimo Dutti is accelerating its international expansion with a series of flagship openings across Europe, Asia and North America. Owned by Inditex, the parent company of Zara, the brand continues to strengthen its position in elevated contemporary fashion, emphasizing timeless tailoring, architectural design and sophisticated retail experiences.

The expansion began with openings in Copenhagen and Los Cabos in July 2026, followed by Seoul in August and new locations in Rome and Milan in October. New York’s SoHo flagship is scheduled to open on October 23, with Shanghai expected to follow later in the month. Each destination is designed to reflect the cultural identity and architectural character of its surroundings, moving beyond a standardized retail concept.

One of the most significant openings is located inside Rome’s historic Palazzo Ruspoli on Via del Corso. Spanning more than 2,000 square meters, the flagship preserves original architectural features while introducing contemporary furnishings, curated collections and personalized shopping services. The location also incorporates fragrance and literature, reinforcing the brand’s growing connection to art and lifestyle.

In New York, Massimo Dutti is bringing that cultural approach to SoHo through a photographic exhibition by artist Steven Sebring centered on musician and cultural icon Patti Smith. The collaboration is part of the brand’s Art in Progress initiative, which connects individual stores with artists and creative communities.

Founded in Spain in 1985, Massimo Dutti now operates more than 500 stores across 76 markets. With first-half 2026 sales reaching €988 million, compared with €895 million the previous year, the company’s expansion reflects both commercial momentum and a broader strategy to make physical retail more experiential. Rather than focusing exclusively on selling clothing, Massimo Dutti is positioning its stores as destinations where fashion, heritage and contemporary culture intersect.
