The Colombian actor is getting attention for one of Season 10’s most revealing scenes, but says the moment represented something deeper: confidence, authenticity and seeing his body represented onscreen.
Season 10 of the long-running drama The Bay has found a new conversation starter in actor Dahveed, whose performance as Isaac includes a full-frontal prison shower scene that has quickly attracted attention online.
The sequence appears in Season 10, Episode 10, “Last Breath of Innocence,” and places Isaac alongside Quincy, played by professional wrestler and actor Anthony Bowens. Dahveed portrays Isaac as a Colombian inmate operating close to one of the prison’s most intimidating figures, bringing both danger and vulnerability to the character.
But while much of the attention surrounding the scene has centered on its nudity, Dahveed has emphasized that its importance to him extends beyond what audiences see on screen.
Speaking with Out, the actor confirmed that no prosthetic was used during the sequence. More significantly, he described the experience as an opportunity to embrace his own body after previously struggling with body confidence and the pressure to meet conventional standards of desirability.
For Dahveed, that visibility also carried a cultural dimension.
The Colombian actor discussed the significance of appearing onscreen as a Latino man whose body does not necessarily conform to the polished image traditionally associated with mainstream television. Rather than changing himself for the scene, he chose to appear as he is — something he described as empowering.
That perspective shifts the conversation around the sequence from simple provocation toward representation and self-acceptance.
Dahveed has also stressed that nudity should not automatically be interpreted as sexual. Once filming began, he said his attention was on Isaac, the character’s intentions and the tension within the scene. The environment on set allowed him to commit fully to the performance.
The role has another personal connection. Playing Isaac allowed Dahveed to draw on his Colombian background, including the use of Colombian Spanish in parts of the dialogue while working with Latino creator and showrunner Gregori J. Martin.
Martin created, writes and directs The Bay, the Emmy-winning serialized drama centered on the wealthy but troubled residents of fictional Bay City. According to the production’s official website, the series has accumulated 23 Daytime Emmy wins and 65 nominations during its run.
Season 10 initially premiered through Popstar! TV in December 2025 and has received renewed attention following its availability on streaming platforms. The Bay can currently be watched on Prime Video and Tubi, with the show’s official site also listing platforms including The Roku Channel and Peacock.
For Dahveed, however, the conversation sparked by one of the season’s most talked-about moments appears to be less about exposure than ownership — of his body, his identity and the way both are presented onscreen.
