Drake Reportedly Withholds All Three 2026 Albums From the 2027 Grammys

Drake is reportedly keeping one of the biggest album runs of 2026 out of the Grammy race. According to Rolling Stone, citing a report from Billboard, the Toronto superstar will not submit Iceman, Habibti or Maid of Honour for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards.

The decision removes all three projects from contention after a year in which Drake once again demonstrated his commercial reach. Released simultaneously in May, Iceman, Habibti and Maid of Honour took over the top three positions on the Billboard 200, making Drake the first artist to occupy Nos. 1, 2 and 3 on the chart at the same time with the three-project release.

Iceman led the charge, debuting at No. 1 and extending Drake’s record-setting run on the charts. The album became his 15th Billboard 200 leader, while the wider trilogy generated dozens of charting songs and reinforced his position as one of the most commercially dominant recording artists of his generation.

But chart success has never guaranteed an uncomplicated relationship between Drake and the Grammys. The Recording Academy currently credits him with five Grammy wins and 56 nominations, yet his history with the institution has included criticism, withdrawn nominations and periods when he elected not to submit major releases for consideration.

The latest move was also foreshadowed by Drake himself. On Iceman closing track “Make Them Know,” he declares, “This album, I’m never submittin’ it,” a line that now reads less like casual bravado and more like advance notice of his plans for awards season.

This is not unprecedented territory for Drake. He previously declined to submit More Life for Grammy consideration, withdrew his nominations connected to Certified Lover Boy, and later kept Honestly, Nevermind out of competition. His collaborative album with 21 Savage, Her Loss, marked a temporary return to the Grammy process and received several nominations for the 2024 ceremony.

The decision also arrives after Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” the defining diss record from the pair’s highly publicized 2024 feud, won five Grammys in 2025. Against that backdrop, Drake’s decision to remove an entire three-album campaign from the 2027 conversation adds another chapter to a relationship with the Recording Academy that has increasingly operated on his own terms.

The submission period for the 2027 Grammys closed on August 21, with first-round voting scheduled for October 12 through October 22. Nominations are set to be announced November 16, ahead of the 69th Grammy Awards on February 7, 2027, in Los Angeles. Drake’s three albums may be absent from that ballot, but their scale, chart performance and cultural footprint ensure they will remain part of the wider conversation surrounding music’s biggest year-end honors.

The three albums were released together on May 15, and Rolling Stone later reported that they occupied the top three positions on the Billboard 200, led by Iceman.
